Beginning 1999-2000, Hepatitus B became a requirement for kindergarten entry. Beginning with 2002-2003 school year, Hepatitis A and Varicella became required for kindergarten entry. Beginning 2006-2007 Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria booster (Td), and Varicella were required for 7th grade entry. Effective May 7, 2007, the Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is required for students entering the 7th grade. Additionally, all Utah students, kindergarten through grade 12, are now required to have two doses of the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine, rather then one dose of the MMR and one additional dose of the measles vaccine. The rule change allows either Tdap or Td vaccine to satisfy the 7th grade requirement and allows previous receipt of two doses of the measles vaccine for the two dose MMR requirement. In order to keep track of which grades are required to have which of these immunizations, please refer to the charts below. |
