JOB DESCRIPTION: ALS Teacher

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the School Principal works to help students in career and technical education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties include (but are not limited to) instructing courses in either

(A) Health Occupations (see course list found at
http://www.usoe.k12.ut.us/ate/HST/course.html

(B) Pre-Engineering/Computer Programming (see curriculum standards found at http://www.usoe.k12.ut.us/ate/it/ocpa.htm and http://www.usoe.k12.ut.us/ate/teched/cipPreEngineeringHome.htm

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS*
1. Create an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
2. Select and requisition instructional materials; maintain required inventory records.
3. Administer group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.
4. Participate in faculty meetings and committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
5. Maintain professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and through self selected professional growth activities.
6. Perform other job duties as required.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:
1. Possess problem solving skills.
2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school staff, district staff, and patrons.
3. Communicates effectively.
4. Has knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Board of Education adopted guidelines.


Required Education and Training for Essential Functions:
1. Valid Utah teaching license and subject specific endorsement, or alternative program leading to license.
