School District Transportation is no longer allowed to drop students off at a destination other than his or her home bus stop. This means parent permission notes, or phone calls, requesting a student be dropped at an alternative location (a friend or relative’s house, scouts, etc.) can no longer be accepted.

State Law requires State Transportation Funds be “used to reimburse districts for the direct costs of transporting students to and from school.” Due to liability issues, GCSD must comply by transporting students to and from their residence only.

Parents whose student(s) have a regular daily child care destination after school, may make special arrangements by calling the District Transportation Office at 259-5430.

Please be aware that rules related to riding school buses come from state law and have been added to the GCSD Discipline Policy, also video/audio tapes are made of bus trips to help assist with students' safety. If a problem arises regarding the transportation of students,
please call the Transportation Supervisor at 259-5430 during business hours.
